And Let the Legend Begin!

Everyone has the chance to exercise virtue, but most people just let it slip away, especially when they know they won’t receive anything in return. Most people find it difficult to understand the reasons behind someone’s actions, especially if they are willing to sacrifice their comfort and life for the sake of others. Some may say that I am that person. This isn’t my job, however. I was employed as the compliance department’s manager, and I work from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m., and that’s it, but we must be the good that the world so desperately needs. For me, one genuine smile is worth it all—the hours of endless work, the days of sleeplessness, everything. What I seek is not an easy life but one that is worth living. I’m sure others feel the same way, but these people are not famous because they are not interesting to society. People are interested in scams and criminal behavior, not heroes. My work has always been an extension of my beliefs. Humans are not machines that follow procedures blindly without thinking or feeling. Unfortunately, I have had many colleagues who behaved this way, but if something is wrong, it is wrong no matter who is behind it. If you can’t deny it publicly, you may find a way to ignore it or avoid it or repair it. If there’s a will, there’s a way. This concept likely inspired my colleagues to call me “the Gray cardinal.”
